- What We Collect: Name, verified mobile number, device location while using the app, pickup/drop coordinates, optional emergency contacts you choose from your phone, and payment transaction metadata.
- Why We Use It: To match you with nearby Captains, calculate routes, estimate fares, process ride receipts, and support passenger safety (including SOS quick-dial).
- Who May Receive It: Your assigned driver receives your first name, pickup/drop coordinates, and masked phone calling. Payment gateways process fares securely. Emergency contacts receive SOS calls/alerts triggered by you.
1. Information We Collect & Purpose of Processing
We collect only the minimum personal data required to provide and secure our transportation platform services:
- Account Information: Full name, verified mobile phone number, email address (optional).
- Location Data: Foreground GPS coordinates when the app is active to determine pickup points and calculate turn-by-turn navigation.
- Emergency & Trusted Contacts (Optional): Contact details you explicitly select from your device's address book for SOS emergency features.
- Ride History: Timestamped pickup/drop points, chosen vehicle category (Bike, Auto, Cab), route history, and passenger ratings.
- Payment & Transaction Information: Transaction identifiers, payment method (UPI, card, cash), amounts paid, and digital invoices. We do not store raw card numbers or CVVs.
- Diagnostics & Safety: SOS emergency triggers, support queries, and app crash logs.
2. Foreground Location Processing
Rydzo collects your precise device location while the application is active in the foreground. This data is used to:
- Identify nearby available drivers and provide accurate pickup ETAs.
- Calculate fair, distance-based trip fares.
- Render live route navigation and progress for the duration of the ride.
Riders can choose to set pickup locations manually; however, enabling device location provides optimal dispatch accuracy.
3. Emergency Contacts & Device Contacts Access
Rydzo includes an in-app Emergency SOS feature to enhance rider safety. When using this feature:
- Permission Request: The app requests permission to access your device contacts (
READ_CONTACTS / NSContactsUsageDescription) solely to allow you to easily pick trusted family or friends without typing.
- No Address Book Scraping: Rydzo never uploads, syncs, stores, or transmits your entire contacts list or address book to our servers.
- Local Storage: Only the specific contact names and phone numbers that you explicitly select are stored locally on your device in secure storage for emergency calling.
- Control: You can add, edit, or remove your trusted contacts at any time in the app or revoke contact permissions in your device settings.

6. Data Retention & Security Safeguards
Rydzo retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including providing the service, maintaining safety and security, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and meeting applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Data in transit is protected using TLS 1.3 encryption, and sensitive data at rest is secured with AES-256 encryption.
7. Law Enforcement & Emergency Disclosures
Rydzo may disclose information to government, law-enforcement, regulatory or emergency authorities where required or permitted by applicable law, including where necessary to protect passenger/driver safety, investigate fraud, or respond to lawful requests.
8. Your Privacy Rights & Account Deletion
You have full control over your personal data under Indian privacy law:
- Review & Access: View your profile and ride history directly in the app.
- Consent Preferences: Toggle optional marketing communications on or off at any time in Profile > Privacy & Legal Preferences.
- Account & Data Deletion: Submit an in-app deletion request. Personal identifiers will be permanently anonymized following completion of ongoing trips.
